Warehouse Supervisor I

Overview

Oversee the department functions, associates, and meets and maintains production standards for shipping department assigned. Handles all daily issues and projects under the direction of the Operations Manager. Hold associates accountable for providing our customers the best quality product possible.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day to day warehouse activities in the assigned area.
• Coordinate scheduling and staffing needs to meet the demands or the workload to maximize efficiency and productivity.
• Administer all company policies and procedures fairly and consistently.
• Communicate and work closely with other departments and shifts to maximize efficiency in workforce.
• Communicate with appropriate individuals/departments during the shift that my affect other warehouse departments
• Help meet department operational and budget goals
• Provide accurate reporting information to DC Leadership Team and others
• Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting their work group or center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs
• Manage all expenses with special emphasis on damage control, labor, and supply usage in order to meet or exceed budget.
• Maintain and project a professional attitude toward all employees in order to build and harbor a team atmosphere.
• Participate in all special projects as assigned by supervisor.
• Assist in establishing the department labor budget.
• Supervise operation to comply with all applicable FSMA regulations, as well as company Food Safety Plan, policies, procedures, and standards.
• May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Desirable Qualifications:

• The incumbent should possess an Associates degree in business or related field, plus 2-5 years progressive distribution supervisory experience.
• Should possess strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.

Dimensions:

• Supervise 20-50 employees.
• $360,000-$500,000 in merchandise shipped and/or received daily
• Serve on task forces, committees, and other related work groups.

Direction/Responsibility:

• Works under the general supervision of the Operations Manager.
