Freezer Order Selector

Position Summary

· A freezer order selector is responsible for selecting products in a safe and efficient manner which includes reading labels, placing products in the proper locations on pallets and preparing it for shipping. Order selectors accomplish this by following standard work instructions. This position is physically demanding and entails exposure to varying temperatures. This is done in sub-zero temperatures (-10 to -20 degrees below zero) using either power equipment or manually.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Must be able to work in sub-zero temperatures (-10 to -20 degrees below zero) using either power equipment or manually.

· Must be able to work well independently or with a team.

· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Maintain inventory control by recording inventory and date code validation.

· Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping debris picked up and floors swept.

· Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.

· Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.

· Other duties as assigned.

· Have the ability to adapt to changes in the work environment including the use and types of materials/tools, methods and work instructions.

· Must be a team player. The ability to communicate well with others.

· Must be able to work a full-time schedule which includes nights, holidays, Sunday’s and overtime as required.

· Must be able to differentiate between odd/even numbers.

· Must be able to read and count.

Education and/or Experience

· High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

· Good communication, organization, time management and mathematical skills

· Dependable and reliable

Physical Demands

• Able to withstand temperatures of -10 to -20 degrees.
• Must be alert and focused.

· Regularly lift and/or move objects weighing 10-80Ibs and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100Ibs with assistance.

· Must be able to perform physically demanding activities (such as standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, sitting, climbing, and balancing for long periods of time)

Hours of Work

A minimum work requirement of 5 days per week/8 hours a day. The work schedule is typically Monday through Thursday 2pm until the job is completed. This position also works on Sunday’s when schools are in, starting at 9 am and ends when all orders are filled. Some hours/days vary depending on delivery appointments, holidays, staffing, etc.
