What are the responsibilities and job description for the Processing Associate position at Mercury Insurance?
Position Summary:
This role primarily consists of opening, batching, and preparing physical & digital mail for Ingestion. This role also ensures the timely and accurate ingestion of claims and underwriting mail through various operating systems and routinely resolves minor system problems while engaging with peers and internal customers.
Essential Job Functions:
The facilitation of routing a variety of document types (physical & digital) to assorted customer channels. This could include identifying and classifying incoming correspondence to route to various business systems and partners, index and transcribe assignments such as business correspondence, forms and reports, converting disk files into viewable correspondence.
Provide administrative support to a number of teams within the organization including but not limited to: AIS sales and service, Legal Admin, Billing, Orion, Sales Development, Salvage, Total Loss, Subrogation, Property Claims, Auto Claims, Tax Compliance, and Underwriting.
Manually prepare customer documents for various lines of business throughout the organization, operate company equipment such as a work PC,high capacity scanners, check scanners, folding and binding machines, mail opening and extraction machines, and MFPs (multi-function printers).

Education:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience:
• 2-3 years related work experience
Knowledge and Skills:
• Highly organized multi-tasker capable of prioritizing assigned work efficiently. Requires critical attention to detail and accuracy of work.
• Technology forward individual who is fully capable of operating a work PC, must be comfortable navigating applications commonly used in the industry including Microsoft Office suite of products including, Outlook, Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
• Ability to effectively communicate with peers, leaders and internal customers both verbally and through writing/email. Creative and innovative in problem solving and the formulation of solutions.
• Once established, this team member should be self-sufficient and capable of working independently, must be detailed oriented and will perform assignments with purpose, capable of thinking critically when faced with challenges.
• General knowledge of the organization including policies, practices and operations of supported companies and lines of business in order to process information and complete assigned tasks.Additional knowledge to include handling a variety of motor vehicles department forms for all states. Setup and track FedEx shipments as well as prepare additional items for shipping and mail, and accept and document parcel and freight deliveries.
