PURPOSE OF POSITION: To work collaboratively with department staff and volunteers to coordinate a tutoring program and after school program during the school year; To manage the learning center and its resources; To establish a welcoming learning environment and integrate executive functions materials and time management strategies; To coordinate classes and events during the school year and summer; To develop and maintain a system which supports the day-to-day operations of the department.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 4 nights until 8pm on Mon-Wed & Fri during the school year. Flexibility required. 2 optional remote days per month
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
· Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
· Detail oriented.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and to meet deadlines promptly.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as the ability to become proficient in other software packages and programs.
· A valid Illinois driver’s license, ability to drive a van, maintain a clear driving record, and retain driving approval through the Department of Children and Family Services.
· Comfortable with numbers and performing simple statistical analysis.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Ability to work both independently and as an active team member.
· Ability to maintain professional demeanor while exercising judgment and discretion in work.
· Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
· Maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences.
· Ability to attend required Agency trainings and maintain necessary training compliance. Flexibility to attend daytime trainings or sessions outside of regularly scheduled hours.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Tutoring Coordination:
· Communicate effectively with IS team and Advancement team regarding need for tutors and tutor application process.
· Review tutor applications and evaluate tutors’ school subject strengths and availability to assist with appropriately matching tutors with youth.
· Lead training sessions and orientation sessions with tutors at start of each semester and as needed.
· Administer Woodcock-Johnson 4 tests.
· Be familiar with youth’s academic strengths and areas of development.
· Co-create study time plans for youth.
· Maintain confidentiality of youth when working with tutors.
· Maintain up-to-date tutor files and contact information database.
· Keep attendance/sign-in records, feedback forms, and tally tutoring hours. Track data in BluePrint.
· Create a communication network with Department staff and Youth Programs staff for timely notification of youths’ availability for tutoring.
· Maintain a calendar of events that may impact a youth’s availability for tutoring.
· Coordinate Department staff for the greeting, escorting, and monitoring of the tutoring program on Monday through Thursday during the school year. When sessions are delivered virtually, coordinate Department and Youth programs staff for execution and monitoring of tutoring program.
· Be present in the learning center or have a known online presence during tutoring and readily receive feedback from tutors at end of tutoring sessions.
· Work with Department to retain tutors in the program.
· Conduct weekly tutor review meeting with Department staff to review tutor needs and challenges. Effectively problem solve and communicate with tutors and Youth Programs staff as necessary.
· Partner with Department and Advancement staff to coordinate tutor appreciation efforts throughout the school year.
· Oversee quality improvement process of tutoring program and lead improvement projects related to tutoring program.
· Update tutoring program policies and procedures as needed.
