Overview:  The Executive Director-Senior Counsel provides legal counsel and subject matter expertise across multiple routine and complex functional areas that impact the delivery of legal services to a large and complex health system. These areas include antitrust, tax and tax-exemption, employment law, mergers and acquisitions, hospital operations, litigation and litigation management, insurance and risk management, healthcare compliance, corporate law and governance, healthcare transactions, medical staff and accreditation, payers and managed care, physician arrangements, real estate and construction, and healthcare reform and reimbursement.

 

 


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of seven years of experience as a practicing attorney, with significant experience in one or more healthcare-related or applicable areas such as antitrust, tax and tax-exemption, employment law, mergers and acquisitions, hospital operations, litigation and litigation management, insurance and risk management, healthcare compliance, corporate law and governance, healthcare transactions, medical staff and accreditation, payers and managed care, physician contracting, real estate and construction, and healthcare reform and reimbursement.
  • Required Education: Doctorate of Jurisprudence (JD)
  • Certifications/Licensure: Membership in an applicable state Bar.
  • Other:

    •    Strong ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders.

    •    In-depth legal knowledge and skills.

    •    Problem-solving and analytical skills.

    •    High level of integrity and professional ethics.

    •    Strong organizational and project management skills.

    •    Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

    •    Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

     

  • Litigation experience in the areas of commercial, employment, mananged care, government investigations, qui tam, and/or professional liability preferred.
