Overview:
The Level 3 NICU is located on the West wing of the 5th floor adjacent to the Mother/Baby unit. Each NICU suite is private and parents are able to stay in the room with their newborn. There are 2 suites capable of bedding multiples (twins/triplets).The NICU is staffed around the clock, 24/7 with Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNP) and highly skilled RNs and a dedicated NICU Respiratory Therapist (RN). Multidisciplinary rounds occur daily which include the parents (if available), Neonatologist, NNP, RT, ST, PT, Pharmacist, patients primary nurse and Charge nurse. We provide care for neonates from 26 weeks and up and have the ability to provide full body cooling, Brain-Z monitoring, high frequency ventilators/oscillators and iNO therapy. Typical nurse patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 based on acuity. Nurses are required to have NRP certification.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Must have RN NICU experience
- Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school
- Preferred Education: BSN
- License: current RN license in our state
- Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
