What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stroke Program Coordinator position at Mercy?

Stroke Program Coordinator Overview:
- The Stroke Coordinator (SC) role and purpose is to provide program leadership, management, strategic direction, and financial control of the Stroke Program.
- The Stroke Coordinator is an active member of the Performance Improvement and Peer Review Committee. He/She is responsible for the leading role in neurology care with participation and development of the stroke prevention/early response program.
- The SC is the collector, keeper, and reporter of the Stroke Registry.
- The SC is responsible for meeting all the HIPAA regulatory requirements in data submission to the appropriate entities.
- Also, the SC is responsible for preparing reports for committee meetings related to strokes.
- The SC assists and interfaces with the ED, physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
- Experience: Neurology Experience, Minimum 2 years acute care experience.
- Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
- Certification/Registration: BLS
