Offset Press Operator

Meridian is adding a full-time person to our growing Production Team! As an Offset Press Operator, you’ll be able to show off your impeccable quality standards and attention to detail in a new, modern, state of the art production facility. This position is responsible for all aspects of operating the latest, most advanced, offset printing equipment to production and quality standards.

This role is a full-time, in-person position with ability to commute/relocate to our office in Loves Park, IL 61111. Benefits include Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance and 401k package.

REQUIRED CORE COMPETENCIES

· Minimum 2 years experience as an Offset Print Operator

· A thorough knowledge of equipment set up, adjustment, operating procedures, and a corresponding level of skill pertaining to UV LED Ink print process (preferable)

· Able to set up, operate, and adjust the equipment, and in addition, diagnose, solve, and correct operating problems affecting the quality and timeliness of the service or product.

· Ability to lift 10-15 pounds continuously, ability to lift to 70 pounds occasionally, stand long hours (8-10 hour shift)

WHAT YOU WILL DO

· Operate offset printing equipment

· Review job instructions to prepare jobs for printing and maintain daily print job production logs and data collection

· Setup, program, and release jobs from print queue

· Maintain inventory levels of supplies such as ink, chemical solutions, blankets and rollers, paper, and other items as needed

· Corrective adjustments performed require the operator to consider the symptom(s), possible causes and remedies.

· Perform daily maintenance, on schedule according to procedure to promote machine stability and dependability

· Perform adjustments accurately, efficiently, and according to procedure—minimizing unexpected downtime and service calls

· Monitoring the printing process to maintain print quality and optimize productivity and minimize waste

· Assure jobs are properly set up for quality/productivity

· Keep current on best operator practices

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

· Analytical approach to problem solving

· Ability to conduct tests and inspections to evaluate quality and performance

· Excellent visual discrimination and grasp of color theory - has an eye for color and print quality

· Able to thoroughly follow instructions
