Title: Controls Engineer
Location: Grand Rapids, MI; Bolingbrook, IL; Erlanger, KY
Duration: 6 Month Contract to hire
Type: W2 Only
Essential Functions
Lead the concepting and design of value-adding products that address customer and market needs
Collaborate with the development team to bring products to life
Ensure product compatibility with current and future manufacturing operations
Specify and develop operational sequences for automated equipment
Prepare schematics and specifications for control panel fabrication
Develop Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs
Perform on-site beta testing to validate safety, reliability, and performance metrics
Investigate field product issues and determine root causes
Travel domestically up to 40% within North America (primarily the Continental U.S.)
Education And Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum Of 8 Years Of Relevant Experience
Required experience with sortation, conveyance equipment, or robotics design
Deep understanding of industrial automation systems, including HMI and SCADA, and Allen-Bradley controllers
Knowledge of electrical and safety codes for machine/equipment design, including risk assessments
