Location: Hagerstown, MD
Position: Full Time
Salary: Base: 450,000/year. Sign-on Bonus: $25,000.
Other Incentives: Relocation bonus of $50,000 (eligible to Washington County)
Requirements:
• Medical degree (MD or DO) with completion of a residency in general surgery.
• Fellowship training in surgical oncology.
• Board certification in surgery and surgical oncology.
Responsibilities:
• Patient Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of patients with suspected or diagnosed cancers, including detailed medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
• Surgical Procedures: Perform a variety of complex surgical procedures, including tumor resections, biopsies, and minimally invasive surgeries, while adhering to best practices and safety standards.
• Treatment Planning: Collaborate with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and other specialists to develop personalized treatment plans that may include surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.
• Postoperative Care: Monitor patients closely after surgery, manage postoperative complications, and provide follow-up care to ensure optimal recovery and treatment outcomes.
• Patient Education: Communicate clearly with patients and their families about surgical procedures, potential risks, recovery expectations, and the overall treatment plan.
• Research and Development: Engage in clinical research to advance the field of surgical oncology, including participation in clinical trials and publication of findings.
• Continuing Education: Stay updated on the latest advancements in oncology and surgical techniques through ongoing education and training.
