What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technology Lab Coordinator position at Merrillville Community School Corporation?
197 days per year; 3 days before organization day & 4 days after last faculty day
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist building staff and students by troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading client computing devices including hardware, software, and peripheral equipment(Doc Cams, Projectors, Etc..). Technology FIrst Line of defense
- Inventory control and management of devices to be distributed to students.
- Use the helpdesk trouble ticket database to log all work and to view new trouble tickets.
- Communicate with assigned building tech and next level Technology Department staff to repair/troubleshoot problems.
- Generate student / class / corporation reports as needed (Clever Badges, etc.)
- Assist teachers in diagnosing student reports
- Assist teachers in assessing status of current, past and future technology learning needs
- Assist teachers in the use of computer hardware, software, the Internet, and the application of the Technology Curriculum
- Provide orientation and assistance to teachers and office staff in learning and operating computer software
- Assist with troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading student devices.
- Meet periodically with other corporation Technology Coordinators and technology staff to share information and ideas and for professional development.
- Attend periodic staff development workshops to maintain and update skills teachers’ instructional plans that will enhance student learning with technology
- All other duties as assigned by the administration

- Demonstrates proficiency by passing the clerical skills tests of word processing /keyboarding / database / aptitudes and capacities tests
- Successful interview with Administrative Supervisor and/or Building Administrator
- Internal candidates must have successfully completed Clerical Skills Proficiency & Skyward tests,
- External candidates must have successful completion of Clerical Skills Proficiency and Skyward tests within the probationary period,
