The position will include various tasks to support the needs of the Industrial Business Units Mechanical Engineering department and our clients. This will include developing associates in the department, project lead assignments, resource loading, hiring, and other planning/growth activities. In addition, the role will involve some project work as the Mechanical Engineering lead. This would include specifying engineering approach, coordinating efforts of junior engineering staff, designers, and CAD technicians, checking and sealing deliverables. Candidates need to be knowledgeable in multiple aspects of Mechanical engineering, including piping, HVAC, motors, ducting, pumps, fans, etc. Candidate needs to be able to perform and guide required engineering analyses. Experience in FEA and 3D models would be a plus. Position will require field walkdowns of various types of facilities to collect field data needed for proposals or design work and for coordination meetings or inspections at the client’s site. Expect around 15% travel. Oral and written communication skills are a necessity. Applicant must possess willingness to accept responsibility and work overtime as necessary to meet schedules and commitments.
The successful candidate must:
- Coordinate Engineering efforts of Mechanical department.
- Facilitate development of the associates in the Mechanical department.
- Perform Mechanical Engineering checking activities and sealing of design documents.
- Work with engineering management to develop proposal responses and estimate to client RFQs.
- Schedule and track resources for the completion of all Mechanical design efforts. Assist discipline leads and PMs in deliverable tracking and ETCs on projects.
- Develop upper tier engineering documents and provide engineering and design direction.
