JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for assisting clients in securing employment by providing career counseling, assessments, case management, job skills training, job development, and positive employer relations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Interviewing clients face-to-face and assessing needs and job skills for enrollment in training and employment programs.
- Referring clients to other programs within the Workforce Center and the community as appropriate.
- Administering and interpreting appropriate assessment instruments.
- Assisting clients with job development, employer and other community education activities, and serving as liaison between the organization and other community agencies.
- Instructing clients in pre-employment skills, self-esteem building, and other activities in order to assist in job placement.
- Supervising clients’ work performance, training, and/or education on a weekly or monthly basis.
- Designing and implementing special projects which will enhance the training services provided by the organization.
- Maintaining files, log notes, forms, reports, and other paperwork as necessary.
- Participating in employer relations activities, including consultative meetings, job fairs, seminars, workshops, and networking events.
- Provide educational, support interventions for clients including crisis intervention counseling.
- Create employment and support service intervention plans and goals with clients.
- Maintain a caseload deemed appropriate by supervisors, which requires effective time management skills.
- Make appropriate referrals a necessary.
- Maintain documentation and client files with accurate, directive case notes and all other forms as required by the County or Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.
- Data entry of client files into Connecting Colorado in a timely manner.
- Maintain and compile statistics and reports in a timely manner or as required.
- Make program presentations to the community, businesses and collaborate with other agencies.
- Due to the nature of the program, it may be necessary to meet with clients alone, within the WFC or at their place of employment.
- Exposure to hostile and/or behaviorally challenged clients may be necessary.
- Oversee assigned volunteers/internships and track hours.
- Attend meetings as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience
Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) (desired)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires standing, stooping, sitting, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 10 pounds. Work is generally confined to a standard office environment. Exposure to hostile and/or behaviorally challenged clients may be necessary.
