Job Summary:
As the Messiah Lifeways Logistics Assistant, this position will assist the Logistics Coordinator and Purchasing Manager to oversee all logistical operations of the Messiah Lifeways at Messiah Village campus and satellite locations to include receiving, inspecting, and distributing all inbound deliveries, the shipment of return orders, the transportation and/or retrieval of goods and products, as well as the performance of inventory control management for the campus to include personal care, skilled nursing, and related support departments.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Serves in a support role to the Logistics Coordinator and Purchasing Manager to assist with daily duties and responsibilities
-
Reports directly to the Logistics Coordinator for daily operations
-
Receives tasks per the instruction of the Logistics Coordinator and Purchasing Manager and fulfills duties and responsibilities within the department as operations demand
-
Assists in receiving all inbound shipments as procured by the Purchasing Office and/or purchased by a team member for the benefit of the community
-
Assists in receiving and distributing all inbound shipments for residents as purchased by residents and/or resident’s family members
-
Assists in the inspection of all inbound shipments for physical damages and/or inconsistencies and immediately addresses issues at the time of receipt and before acceptance of deliveries
-
Assists in inspecting all inbound shipments for accuracy based on bill of ladings, freight slips, or packing slips at the time of receipt and before acceptance of deliveries
-
Assists in maintaining documentation to include freight slips, packing slips, and/or reports and uploads into the receiving module of Sage Intacct and/or a procurement program and/or the Purchasing shared drive for accountability

Assists in directing and the instruction of delivery drivers ranging from Amazon Business, Federal Express (FedEx), United Parcel Service (UPS), and the United States Postal Service (USPS)

Assists in the return process by scheduling return deliveries due to various reasons in which goods and products must be returned to a specific vendor as procured by the Purchasing Office, purchased by a team member, purchased by a resident and/or resident’s family members, or purchased by a partnered group

Assists in making deliveries and/or pickups at the request of team members under special circumstances and at the discretion of the Logistics Coordinator and Purchasing Manager

Assists in the operational flow of the warehouse and logistically adjusts the workspace to efficiently meet the constant influx of deliveries of goods and products
-
Assists in performing daily maintenance and organization of the Central Supply warehouse and equipment to ensure cleanliness, efficiency, and safety
-
Assists in performing daily inspections and record keeping of the Central Supply PITs (Powered Industrial Trucks) to include electric forklift and electric pallet jack per OSHA standards
-
Assists in performing weekly Central Supply inventory control management and determines par levels based on utilization rates of all incontinence, medical, and other miscellaneous supplies held as stock

Assists in performing bi-weekly Central Supply inventory control management and compiles requisitions to purchase incontinence, medical, and other miscellaneous supplies held as stock

Assists in tri-weekly inventory control management of Personal Care and Skilled Nursing Neighborhoods for incontinence and medical supplies on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

Assists in performing monthly audits of Central Supply inventory to ensure proper rotation of products prone to expiration and ensuring fresh inventory being distributed
-
Assists in performing monthly audits of incontinence and medical supply points in all all Personal Care and Skilled Nursing Neighborhoods to ensure proper rotation of products prone to expiration and ensuring fresh inventory being utilized

Assists in performing monthly maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of incontinence and medical supply points in all Personal Care and Skilled Nursing Neighborhoods

Assists in coordinating and communicating with staff as a liaison to the Purchasing Office to procure and supply special or urgent items, needs, and requests
-
Assists Environmental Services with distributing and stowing janitorial and sanitation (JanSan) supplies
-
Assists all departments and satellite campuses to include Ferncrest, Mount Joy Country Homes, Mechanicsburg Place Senior Center, and New Cumberland Senior Center to distribute and supply various goods, products, and supplies as needs dictate

Assists in the distribution of goods and products to all partnered groups to include AdvantageCare Rehabilitation, Advantage Home Health, UPMC, and UGro
-
Maintains confidentiality regarding resident information and all other sensitive information pertaining to the business of Messiah Lifeways
-
Follows emergency procedures and responds appropriately and rapidly

Follows proper safety protocols and promotes a safe working environment
-
Identifies potential safety and/or security risks and reports concerns to Campus Services
-
Additional duties and tasks as assigned at the discretion of the Purchasing Manager

Education/Experience:
-
Must possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent
-
Must possess at least 1 year of prior experience in logistics, warehousing, material management, and/or familiarity of the supply chain method
-
Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with no more than 1 traffic violation within the last 5 years
-
Must possess or be able to obtain within 3 months after hire operators license for PITs (Powered Industrial Trucks) to include electric forklift and electric pallet jack
