Job Description
As an Industrial Painter, you will prep and coat components and assemblies from the fab shop. Duties include cleaning and preparing surfaces, selecting, and mixing paint, ensuring proper safety measures are followed, and maintaining equipment.
Overtime is based on business needs and is NOT mandatory. The rate of pay is based on prior work experience and schooling. Skill blocks, available after the probationary period to test on, add up to an additional $1.25 money per hour.

Hours: Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. are core hours; OT hours are 6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Saturday 6/6:30 a.m. -noon with a 4-hour minimum commitment.
Wage range-$18.00-23.00 per hour
Essential Duties
- Properly apply paint to a variety of surface types with proficiency and attention to detail.
- Painting of small items including touch-up, repair, and repainting of items.
- Use and understanding of Zahn Viscosity cups for proper spray and flow of paint.
- Paint Prep, climb in, under, over and around equipment while prepping/cleaning prior to painting.
- Use of ladders for Paint Prep, Painting and Cleaning of paint booth and paint area.
- Frequent operation of a Fork truck for movement of equipment.
- Sort and identify parts/items that need to be painted from parts/items not needing to be painted.
- Scheduling of preventive maintenance, Changing filters, Protective film on booth walls, floor coverings and general equipment maintenance.
- Proper disposal of consumables, Filters, cleaning rags, solvents etc. Per OSHA/Mestek guidelines.
- Prep work for cleaning parts and equipment. Hand cleaning/wipe down, sanding via hand & DA, scrapping, paint/rust removal when and where needed.
- Proper use of lifting devices, Overhead Crane, Jib Crane, Slings, chains, clamps, hooks, etc.
- General maintenance on tools, guns, and pump equipment. Replacing seals & wearable parts.
- Identify areas that need to be taped, plugged, or covered to keep them free of being painted.
- General knowledge of parts and their specific paint colors were needed.
- Proper care and usage of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Track OSHA regulated supplies daily via manual and electronic records. Paint, Solvent, Cleaners, Booth Filters, Respirators mask/filters etc.
- General housekeeping of areas and ensuring that high safety standards are met.
Qualifications
- Job involves lifting a maximum of 50 pounds.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Use and read tape measures, torque wrenches, and measuring instruments.
- Ability to operate a fork truck and overhead crane.
- Ability to adapt methods and ideas to attain continuous improvement.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Complete RCRA course on Hazardous Waste.
Physical Demands
The individual will regularly be required to stand. The individual will frequently be required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The individual will occasionally be required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The individual must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those individuals encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
