Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Metal Finisher to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for refining and finishing metal components to meet precise specifications, ensuring the highest quality standards. Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain various finishing equipment such as grinders, polishers, and sanding machines to achieve smooth, clean surfaces on metal parts.
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform detailed finishing tasks, including deburring, polishing, and surface preparation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate finishing processes aligned with design intent.
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and surface finishes meet standards.
- Utilize CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment for precise shaping and finishing of metal components.
- Program CNC machines for custom finishing tasks, ensuring optimal operation and adherence to specifications.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed to assemble or repair metal parts during the finishing process.
- Operate forklifts and cranes safely to move heavy materials or finished products within the workspace.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot issues related to tooling or machining processes and suggest improvements for efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in metal finishing, machining, or fabrication within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of tools such as press brake machines, stamping presses, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, grinders, welders, and hand tools.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications.
- Skilled in operating CNC programming software as well as manual machining equipment.
- Familiarity with quality inspection techniques using calipers, micrometers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes including plasma cutting and stamping press operations.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances.
- Ability to work safely with forklifts, cranes, electrical discharge machines (EDM), plasma cutters, and other heavy machinery.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on precision finishing standards.
- Strong teamwork skills combined with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Pay: $18.00 - $20.50 per hour
