MFT is seeking a dedicated and reliable production line operator who will safely, correctly, and efficiently operate process lines to ensure the successful completion of projects according to MFT and client expectations. This line is very busy and requires someone that works well in a very fast-paced environment.
Summary
The candidate will safely, correctly, and efficiently operate all process lines within MFT procedures, as well as provide technical support and training to fellow employees.
Minimum Qualifications
· High School diploma or GED
· 1-2 year’s related experience in metal finishing or plating and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Have the ability to follow directions
· Attentiveness to detail and sensitivity to the nature of the position
· Be familiar with the processing of all substrates encountered on the line
· Be familiar with stripping procedures for applicable processes
· The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintain a clean working environment
· Provide training to fellow employees on MFT processes
· Monitor condition of all equipment and recommend repairs and/or replacement as necessary
· Clean anode and cathode bars on a daily basis; adding anodes as needed
· Clean horns and saddles three times per week
· Move parts between various locations
· Complete work order tickets, daily line logs, customer parts riders; and related paperwork completely and accurately
· Activate the part using approved procedures
· Successfully plate the parts using approved methods
· Improve upon process areas including but not limited to: process steps, fixturing or handling of customer parts
· Read and carry out instructions on printed work order
· Ensure customer parts are processed in accordance with work order specifications.
· Understand and conform to MFT/Customer/QC standards including thickness, color, brightness and coverage.
· Perform tasks from a scheduled/predefined priority list.
· Provide technical support to rackers, packers, and dryers when assigned to a process line.
· Make chemical adds and make-up solutions provided by the lab
· Test acid concentration
· Bake work, when required, within customer requirements
· Operate acid and hand pumps, transfer the solution.
· Provide a safe working environment by properly handling chemicals including, but not limited to: acids, alkalis, and/or oxidizers
· Comply with requirements of safety committee, EHS department, and MFT standards.
· Understand and operate the automated machine on the line
· Oversee dryer operator/rackers
· May perform chemical maintenance on line, including changing filters
· Other duties as assigned
