Summary:

Metal Sales is the nationu0026#39;s largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. Our Sellersburg, IN plant has an opening on our team for a Commercial Project Estimator.

The Commercial Project Estimator is responsible for creating detailed proposals from blueprints that meet all requirements specified in the customer submitted project. Regular activities may include working with customers and/or architects to plan cost factors for building projects, analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation. Regular use of computer programs such as AutoCAD is the norm.

You'll be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Estimating
  • Researching and understanding all project requirements
  • Determining all materials and services required for the project
  • Identifying project specific qualifications based upon Metal Sales' product knowledge relative to what the specification is calling out
  • Completing project estimates, ensuring all communications, RFI's and answers are documented
  • Completing proper paper work required for nonstandard materials and making request through corporate purchasing or plant purchasing for project materials that are non-standards
  • Ensuring all questions or concerns are handled within a timely manner, engineering requirements are met, and the Metal Sales weather tightness program is followed
  • Communicating to CIA Project Team on bid date changes or delays
• Customer / Sales / Project Manager Support
  • Communicating with customers and providing conflict resolution
  • Partnering with our internal sales team
  • Supporting the CIA Project Manager by clearly defining scope of work, project specific qualifications, and any other key points during each post award turnover meeting

The most qualified candidates will have:

• At least 2 years' estimating experience within the roofing or building industry; metal roofing and/or construction/manufacturing knowledge strongly desired
• AutoCad proficiency
• Solid computer skills and knowledge with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Excellent communication skills, problem solving abilities , time management skills, and mathematical skills
• A detail oriented mindset and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• A team player desire with the commitment to the success of the team through individual performance
• Associates Degree preferred; HS diploma or equivalent required
