What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Help position at Metal Works Inc?
Job Summary
Performs any combination of the following tasks in support of manufacturing operations. Hours are Monday through Friday 7am - 3:30pm and Monday through Thursday 3:30pm-2am.
Responsibilities:
- Loads, unloads and moves materials within the plant.
- May use fork truck to move materials and to take supplies to the production floor.
- Reads work orders or may follow verbal orders in the accomplishment of the assigned task.
- Assists machine operators, makes simple adjustments and or repairs as directed.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Verify that Operation Steps as indicated on the Job Traveler have been signed off for the prior operations before beginning the job.
- Notify the area Manager and or Quality when corrective action is required.
- Complete job travelers and ensure job paperwork follows parts through the manufacturing process.
- Enter labor in to the manufacturing system via barcode prior to releasing product to the next operation.
Knowledge/Skills
Ability to follow instructions verbal and or written
Ability to program, setup and operate machines in a safe and responsible manner
Maintains accurate and complete records.
Fork Truck Licensing
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for an 8-10 hour shift.
Lifting capabilities 15-20 lbs repeatedly with maximum lifting of 50 lbs.
Range of Motion: Bending, walking, reaching
Education and or Experience
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
