HOURS: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Saturday as needed

PURPOSE
The purpose of the Auto Dismantler position is to dismantle vehicles, pull parts off of vehicles and tag them for inventory or to fulfill customer requests. Perform the dismantling procedure according to company policies in a safe and efficient manner. The work may involve cutting into vehicles with saws.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures VIN # is the same as reported on paperwork.
- Must perform the dismantling procedure in accordance to company policy.
- Remove and properly dispose of fluids including oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, power brake fluid, gasoline, diesel, and anti-freeze.
- Removal and proper handling of battery and catalytic converter, drums and rotors, etc.
- Complete one vehicle before starting another.
- Keep work area clean and safe, fluids placed in labeled containers.
- Maintain tools and equipment and regularly inspect for problems.
- Pick up parts and debris from previous vehicle and put in appropriate holding containers/area.
- Dismantler may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week.
- Schedule may require weekend hours as we are a 7 day per week operation.
- The dismantling job is performed outside 12 months out of the year, under overhang.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have entry-level mechanic skills. Training in any automotive program is a benefit.
- Must have some experience of dismantling vehicles.
- Dismantler should keep appropriate attire on hand, including steel toe boots and clothing appropriate for dismantling.
- Must be able to work assigned schedule.
- Must be able to perform a variety of task in all kinds of weather/seasons.
- Physical job - Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
- Will be required to wear proper PPE (steel-toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses).
- Metals knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous is a plus!
- Prior to hire - Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug test and criminal background check.
