What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder position at Metalworks Inc.?
Shift : 5A-5 : 30P Friday-Sunday (Work 36 hours but get paid for 40!)
Compensation : $21-$26 per hour DOE
Summary : The Welder is responsible for creating a quality product while meeting production goals.
Essential Duties : Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
- Read blueprints and drawings and take measurements to verify quality production.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Operate angle grinders to prepare / finish the welded parts.
- Align components using fixtures, calipers, rulers, etc. and clamp pieces.
- Set up / operate Robotic Welding cells.
- Provide continuous improvement feedback to help increase productivity.
Required Skills :
- Experience using MIG and / or TIG equipment
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing
- Attention to detail with an emphasis on quality and production efficiency
Minimum Qualifications :
- AAS in Welding Technology or two years of welding experience
- AWS D1.1 and / or AWS D1.3 certification
- Proficient in English
