Role Summary
MPC is seeking a Data Engineer with 5 years of experience to develop and maintain databases in a Microsoft SQL Server Environment. The Data Engineer will develop database objects and supporting code to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from data sources to target databases. This position also requires collaboration with web developers to ensure a robust data-driven solution is built.
What You Will Be Doing
- Create and maintain database schemas to include tables, views, functions, procedures, triggers, constraints, etc.
- Develop database objects and code to meet user requirements while balancing performance, maintainability, flexibility (data-driven), and security.
- Prepare and execute database deployments plans across multiple environments (Development, Test, and Production) for scheduled releases.
- Peer review database code to provide feedback.
- Create, Review, and update technical documentation relating to database development and ETL.
What We Need From You
- US Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS).
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with database development and administration in a Microsoft SQL Server environment.
- Understand data modeling techniques for both transactional and analytical data stores.
- Data integration experience with Python and Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), from development to implementation.
- Report development and deployment experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
Bonus Points
- Consulting experience in a federal government environment.
- Data engineering experience on an enterprise scale, integrating multiple systems with various data structures.
- Familiar with migrating on-prem databases and reports to the cloud (preferably Azure).
- Demonstrate knowledge of Tableau and PowerBI
