SUMMARY OF POSITION
A Meteor Project Manager is an influential leader and essential component of the MeTEOR Project Team. The PM will support the customer, the team and the process by owning the successful fulfillment of assigned projects and delivering a consistently exceptional customer journey. Project Managers are responsible for protecting the proposed budget, strategy, timeline and organizational commitments of each project and effectively controlling the project planning, communication, tracking, coordination, scheduling, execution and closeout. The ideal candidate will be professional, collaborative, respectful, innovative, organized and detail oriented. A Meteor PM must possess fundamental skills including but not limited to solid verbal and written communication, critical thinking, strategic problem resolution and commitment to the adoption and application of established processes.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning & Fulfillment (Execution)
Collaborate with team and attend project meetings to achieve thorough understanding of project scope and customer expectations.
Work with 3rd party installation partners to determine labor requirements & costs.
Analyze project scope, vendor lead times and commitments to establish a viable delivery and installation timeline.
Review and approve customer purchase orders.
Review vendor acknowledgements and estimated delivery dates for accuracy and alignment with project timeline and commitments.
Review, assimilate and confirm accuracy of project site plans, design presentations, project paperwork, product specifications and contracts.
Monitor vendor purchase orders and conduct regular follow-ups to confirm on-time production and proactively address delays or potential risk to project timeline and commitments.
Strategically schedule and conduct pre-installation site assessments.
Coordinate and schedule product delivery and installation with all pertinent parties.
Initiate, track and monitor freight movement. Confirm product receipt.
Provide on-site leadership, support and proactive problem resolution throughout installation.
Identify, record, report, track and schedule installation of punch items.
Must be willing and available to travel.
Project Administration
Follow consistent communication cadence with customers, installers and project team; providing progress updates, reaffirming timeline and proactively addressing potential concerns.
Support accurate revenue forecasting and information transparency by maintaining current project dates and detailed project records within MeTEOR ERP system.
Enhance customer, vendor and installer relationships by providing clear and consistent communication, leadership, direction and creative problem resolution indicative of careful evaluation, critical thinking and resourcefulness.
Monitor all project related operating costs and mitigate margin erosion through strategic planning.
Project Closeout
Confirm project completion
Manage all final project close-out requirements, including contract obligations, client signoffs, etc. and submit in a timely manner.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) REQUIREMENTS
Must be proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Dropbox, SharePoint)
Must attend training and develop proficiency with Meteor specific software systems within first 30 days of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES
Associates degree or applicable skillset/professional experience
Strong familiarity with Project Management fundamentals including but not limited to: scope – planning – scheduling – communication – logistics - risk management - order management - timeline/deadline management - installation management - project administration
Exceptional interpersonal, customer relations and communication skills (written and verbal)
Skilled in critical thinking and creative problem resolution
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
