In the Aircraft Structural Design Engineer role, you will provide expedient engineering design support in an aircraft modification environment and provide structural integration drawings for the installation of various equipment and airframe modifications, primarily on King Air aircraft.
These designs include aircraft sheet metal parts, machined parts, and honeycomb panel assemblies using SolidWorks, aircraft design standards, standard aviation hardware and industry practices. The engineering drawings to conform to company templates, drafting standards and engineering data management standards. The designs should apply engineering principles such as structural load paths, material properties, corrosion protection, electrical and thermal conductivity, noise and vibration, aerodynamic characteristics, weight and balance, electromagnetic interference, and complex shapes and surfaces.
What You’ll Do
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or five (5) years of relevant aviation design work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Computer Skills: SolidWorks CAD, Microsoft Office Suite.

What You’ll Do
- Coordinate with management, otherengineersand shop technicians to develop design requirements and incorporate design changes.
- Adhere to company standards for configuration control, file management and change control.
- Exercise initiative, continuous improvement and attention to detail to improve design and drawing quality,completenessand accuracy.
- Applyengineering and fabrication standards such as dimensioning, tolerancing, materials, finishes, GD&T, sheet metal forming, machining, composites, and standardaircrafthardware.
- Maintain a positive attitude in a fast paced, changing environment.
- Work independently with limited oversight but ask questions when necessary.
- Participate in design reviews. Prepare engineering reports and presentations.
- Experiencein structural and mechanical designwith ideally anunderstanding of King Air 300 integrationsandexperience with ISR/EW and other special mission equipment.
- Excellent interpersonaland communicationskills.
- Strong organizational skills and discipline, with strong attention to detail.
