What are the responsibilities and job description for the Card Services - Card Services Specialist position at Metro Credit Union?
The objective of the position is to perform a variety of duties relating to the operations and servicing of Credit and Debit Cards, as well as ATM/ITM Operations in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures. Answers inquiries and services Credit Union members as well as employees.
Major Responsibilities
· Monitors Debit and Credit Card reports and addresses issues as needed for reports such as:
o Card Issuance – replacement, non-reissue, lost/stolen, force emboss, plastic hold/decline, etc
o Unposted Monetary Items
o Plastic and paper stock inventory
o Lost/Stolen Reports
o Debit and Credit Card Regulation Compliancy reports – credit balances, withheld statements, token activation
o Returned plastics
· Daily operational tasks surrounding Metro’s plastics and terminals utilizing various systems to perform Card maintenance including:
o Adding authorized users and issuing cards
o Setting up Business accounts
o Closing accounts
o Processing payments (one-time, autopay, returned payments).
o Setting up accounts for fix pay or re-age, per collections
o Assures Quality Control for all new Credit Card applications and increases
o Obtains daily Credit Card member correspondence from servicer. Makes appropriate account changes and resolves issues.
· Perform daily balancing of ATM settlement reports and process related account adjustments. Review ATM deposits for high-risk checks, fraudulent red flags, and suspicious transactions; monitor for adhereance to Metro’s Funds Availability Policy and deposit guidelines
· Works in conjunction with the card processors as needed to initiate, process, and research transaction disputes. Including monitoring of related reports, processing of member provisional and final credit, and reconciling of corresponding accounts.
· Serves as subject matter expert for branch employees and other internal teams needing assistance with member situations relative to plastics and terminals including troubleshooting, phone queue support, and member outreach as needed. Researches Credit Card accounts regarding interest charged, incorrect balances, cash back figures, returned statements, emergency credit card increases, name and address changes, authorization rejects.

4. REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 2 years previous credit card experienced preferred.
Skills/Knowledge
Ability to learn and understand lending regulations.
General knowledge of computer software; data input skills.
Experience with Windows based applications.
Able to perform work with accuracy and attention to detail.
Able to present information in a clear and easily understood manner.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Uses common courtesy and professionalism.
