Apply now!JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position. However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.Responsible for general troubleshooting of the mill and /or reporting problems to supervisorResponsible for mill maintenance (greasing and keeping hydraulics oiled)Keeps work area clean and orderlyConducts safety audits as assigned by supervisorOperates mill in accordance with MIOSHA standards and Company procedures using required safety equipment such as safety glasses / shoes, earplugs, sleeves, gloves, etc.Complies with Company tardiness and absenteeism policyResponsible for the length, straightness and quality of the tube Responsible for verifying inside and outside diameter of tubeRemoves and dispenses material from millInspects parts visually for open weld seams / butt weldsEnsures tubes are properly stored in racks and identified by heat lot, part number and date Responsible for recording down time and scrapOperates Hi-lo truck safely and efficiently and in accordance with MIOSHA and company standards.Operates Overhead Crane safely and efficiently and in accordance with MIOSHA and company standards.Responsible for loading of coils into millRemoves and dispenses material from millWeld coil ends togetherResponsible for getting correct steel in the millPerforms all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.)Able and willing to work any shift assigned, weekends and overtime Regular and predictable attendance requiredAssumes other duties as directed by supervisorSchedule:1st Shift Times 6am to 2pm Mon-Fri OT Required2nd Shift Times 10pm to 6am Sun – Thurs OT RequiredCompensation (USD):1st Shift: $20.502nd Shift: $21.25REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
