Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team. These responsibilities will be performed in a manner consistent with the policies of MetroPlains Management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Talent Development to include recruitment and hiring of qualified candidates in accordance with state and federal laws.
  • Oversee and manage the new hire orientation and on-boarding process.
  • Provide ongoing support to the leadership team, site managers, and employees on human resources matters.
  • Create, implement, and manage employment policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with state and federal laws.
  • Develop and manage the Employee Handbook, keeping all policies up to date.
  • Investigate and provide solutions or recommendations to the leadership team for all employee complaints.
  • Organizational Development duties to include conducting on-going training for employees and managers.
  • Complete all human resources reporting, such as EEO-1 and other mandatory reports.
  • Administer and manage compensation and performance management programs.
  • Oversee the workers compensation process including first report of injuries and return to work accommodations.
  • Manage unemployment claims by gathering the information needed to respond to claims and representing MetroPlains at unemployment hearings.
  • Develop and manage the Safety Manual.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Benefits and Payroll Manager regarding policies, processes, procedures, programs, and vendors.
  • Provides back-up to the Benefits and Payroll Manager position so that payroll is processed timely.
  • Complete projects or other duties assigned by the Executive Team.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must maintain a current drivers license and be able to travel, when requested, for MetroPlains.

Work Environment:

  • Typical office environment, exposure to fax machines and copiers, computers, scanners and printers.
  • Employee is subject to minimal noise level.

Physical Demands:

  • Seldom requires lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
  • Often required to sit, stand, walk, bend knees, stretch arms, talk and hear.
  • Occasionally required to stoop or kneel.
  • Requires face-to-face contact/telephone/or use of technology for conversations/discussions with individuals or groups of people.
  • Requires use of a computer to process information.
  • Requires reading and creating letters, documents, spreadsheets and memos.
  • May require independent travel to other locations with unknown environmental conditions and noise levels.
