We are seeking a Student Intern to support our APPLE ECE PROJECT - Addison Partners for Play, Learning, and Education, at our DuPage Center!
Must be enrolled in a college/university and internship hours are required for graduation or completion of a course.
This is an unpaid Internship.
Essential Internship Functions
Performs a wide variety of tasks which can include all of some of the following.

Essential Internship Functions
Performs a wide variety of tasks which can include all of some of the following.
- Provide support to parents/caregivers in the community
- Assist in planning and organizing community events, meetings and trainings
- Attend scheduled community events, team meetings, and trainings
- Assist with planning parent engagement activities and meetings
- Identify existing services and resources available within the community and county and provide resource and referral information
- Learn to and make referrals through IRIS or directly through organizations
- Communicate with families through text, WhatsApp and Facebook regarding community events and activities
- Enroll families in Basics Insights through community events and outreach
- Collect printed materials from community partners for resource bags/New Parent Toolkits
- Assemble resource bags and distribute to local apartment complexes
- Assemble New Parent Toolkits and distribute to community partners
- Distribute books and resources to local laundromats
- Canvas in the community at local laundromats, grocery stores, and apartment complexes
- Provide support, education and information on topics such as child development, family life, and Early Intervention/Early Childhood development and educational programs to parents and caregivers
- Learn to complete ASQ screenings with families as needed at events or individually
- Support participation in community-wide projects
- While performing the essential duties of this job, the intern is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch.
- The interns required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal.
- The intern may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
