What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Swim Team Coach position at MetroWest YMCA?
Are you at least 18 years old, energetic, enjoy swimming, and working with young people? If so, we’d love to speak with you about swim coaching opportunities available this summer at the MetroWest YMCA’s Outdoor Center in Hopkinton. Pay $18 - $20 per hour depending upon experience! Duties:
· Encourage and motivate swimmers while providing instruction to improve swimming technique
· Plan swim practices to keep swimmers engaged and involved
- Adhere to safety standards and best practices during swim practices and meets
- Communicate with swim team parents, volunteers, other coaches, and club management
- Emphasize teamwork and goal setting
- Complete all required training by the MetroWest YMCA
- Complete all administrative functions of the team, including meet entries and records
Requirements:
- Coach applicants must be at least 18 years old
- At least 1 year of previous experience as a swim team coach is required
- Must be available for all swim meets during the season
- Must be able to attend the vast majority of swim practices during the season
