Job Summary
We are currently looking for a Mid to Sr level Estimator with a background in conceptual estimating, and strong budgeting foundation. If you enjoy negotiation during the estimating phase of the project, embrace technology to be more efficient, work on a diverse portfolio of projects then Meyer Najem is the place for you.
Position Responsibilities
- Ability to work with our customers and architect/engineer/subcontract partners in a diligent and collaborative manner
- Bid document preparation and subcontractor buyout in an expeditious and thorough manner
- The ideal candidate has the ability to solve problems with limited direction
- Ability to bring tasks to completion in a timely manner
- Conceptual estimating ability is a requirement of this position
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and multi-task
- Ability to lead project meetings and assist and/or fill in for other Estimators with all functions
- Ability to communicate directly with Vendors/Subcontractors/Architects/Engineers
- A degree in Construction Management or Construction/Civil Engineering/Architecture strongly preferred
- 3 years of experience in estimating commercial building construction projects
- Multi-Family estimating experience is highly desirable
- Experience with technology: ProCore, OnScreen Takeoff, Smartsheets, BlueBeam, Smart Bid, Excel
- The ideal candidate has the ability to solve problems with limited direction
- Estimating background in healthcare, assisted living, municipal, higher-education, negotiated and lump sum bid work
