What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Management Associate position at Mhc wholesale?
We are a rapidly growing hemp manufacturing facility seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to take full control of our inventory operations. We currently have no established inventory systems in place, so we need someone who can build everything from the ground up and implement an efficient, scalable system to track raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products.
The ideal candidate must currently be employed in a similar role at a hemp or cannabis-related company and ready to transition smoothly to our team without the need for extensive training. This role requires immediate hands-on expertise to manage a wide range of inventory, including flower, oils, tubes, pre-rolls, packaging, and other raw materials used in hemp product manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:Inventory System Development & Implementation:
- Design and implement a complete inventory tracking system to organize and monitor all materials and products.
- Develop labeling, categorization, and storage systems for improved organization and efficiency.
Daily Inventory Tracking & Management:
- Maintain real-time inventory records for raw materials (flower, oils, packaging, etc.), in-progress goods, and finished products.
- Oversee and manage incoming shipments, stock levels, and outgoing orders.
- Conduct regular cycle counts, spot checks, and full inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) or other industry-standard inventory rotation methods.
- Work closely with procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure inventory is aligned with business needs.
Compliance & Reporting (Non-Metrc Based):
- Ensure all inventory documentation is organized and up to industry standards for compliance purposes.
- Track and report inventory movements, waste, and discrepancies with proper record-keeping.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies or third-party auditors to maintain operational compliance.
Loss Prevention & Supply Chain Optimization:
- Implement inventory control measures to reduce waste, mismanagement, and loss.
- Identify inefficiencies in supply chain and warehouse organization to improve workflow.
- Work with suppliers and logistics teams to ensure timely and cost-effective replenishment.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Communicate regularly with management, procurement, and operations teams to forecast inventory needs.
- Lead initiatives to optimize inventory flow and improve operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications & Experience:Mandatory Experience & Skills:
✅ Currently employed as an Inventory Manager or similar role in hemp, cannabis, or a related manufacturing field
✅ 3-5 years of direct inventory experience in a manufacturing environment
✅ Strong knowledge of tracking raw materials, packaging, and production inventory (flower, oils, tubes, pre-rolls, etc.)
✅ Experience conducting inventory audits, cycle counts, and loss prevention strategies
✅ Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with minimal supervision
✅ Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
➕ Experience in hemp or CBD product manufacturing
➕ Knowledge of supply chain logistics and warehouse operations
➕ Familiarity with FDA, USDA, or hemp-related regulations
