What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Technician position at Mi - Jack Products?
Provide the Technology Department with extensive hardware and software troubleshooting and repairs.
Essential Functions:
- Provide component repair for all Applied Technology systems. These systems include rovers (customized industrial computers), crane control systems, monitors, sensors, and other similar products.
- Document, record, and follow procedures to commission installations.
- Assists with the installation, and setting up commissions of Applied Technology’s systems and products.
- Performs calibrations on lasers and other machine control products used for precise measurements.
- Assists other employees in daily operations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Help manage system installations, and support of all Applied Technology products.
- Working with and training field personnel in the area of GPS and GPS integration into machine controls.
- Interface Applied Technology components with customer networks and hardware.
- Complete needed service/ticket tracking for each job/issue encountered.
- Develop a relationship with customers to provide the highest level of support.
- Maintains open communications with all team members and management.
Experience/Training/Education:
Required: 2 year Degree in electronics, computer science, or similar field of study required.
Two to five years experience with PC components and electrical systems.
Must possess a firm understanding of the basic structure and functionality of a PC.
The ability to piece together a PC is a must.
A strong computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word. The ability to type highly preferred.
Desired: 4 year degree in electronics, computer science, or similar field of study.

Other Qualifications:
Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card), an e-rail safety card, must have a keen eye to safety and must have or be able to obtain a passport
Physical and Environmental Elements:
- This is primarily an office classification and employees work in an office with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.
- May work offsite in various environments; travel may be required.
- Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, typewriter keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Must be able to speak clearly and communicate clearly in English.
- The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries reports, records, and other materials that typically weigh less than 30 pounds.
Special Requirements/Certification: 20-30% travel is required.
