Lead Custodian - West Laboratory Elementary School

Overview: Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Custodian to join our team at West Laboratory Elementary School. As a leader in the custodial department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance and upkeep of the school's facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment for our students and staff. Responsibilities: * Supervise and coordinate custodial staff to ensure efficient and effective cleaning and maintenance of school facilities * Develop and implement cleaning schedules and protocols to meet the school's needs * Conduct regular inspections of school facilities to identify and address any maintenance or repair needs * Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations, including proper use of chemicals and equipment * Order and manage custodial supplies and equipment * Collaborate with school administrators and teachers to address any special needs or requests * Perform heavy cleaning and maintenance duties as needed * Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required * Minimum of 2 years of custodial experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role * Valid Florida driver's license * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor as needed * Basic knowledge of cleaning and maintenance procedures and techniques * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Benefits: * Competitive salary: $33,052.00 minimum * Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance * Retirement plan with employer match * Paid time off and holidays * Opportunities for professional growth and development * A supportive and inclusive work environment * The chance to work with a diverse and dynamic community of students, staff, and parents
