What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weekend Caregiver position at Michael Dunn Center?
About Michael Dunn Center
Based in Roane County, Michael Dunn Center operates 20 residential homes and a full continuum of supports for individuals with diverse needs. We are mission-driven, community-focused, and committed to providing compassionate, person-centered care.
About the DSP Role
A Direct Support Professional (DSP) is more than a caregiver—you’re a mentor, advocate, and partner in helping someone achieve their personal goals. You’ll play an essential role in helping individuals live active, meaningful lives with dignity and choice.

Support individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal prep, and household tasks—always promoting independence.
Follow individualized support plans and assist individuals with achieving personal goals and milestones.

Administer medications safely and accurately; document all required information according to protocols.
Build positive, trusting relationships and provide emotional support while respecting individual preferences.
Document daily progress, incidents, and observations clearly and accurately in logs and electronic systems.
Advocate for individual rights, ensuring each person’s voice, needs, and choices are honored.
