Overview
We are seeking a dedicated 1st/2nd Grade Classroom Paraprofessional to join our team of Christian educators. The right candidate will support the classroom teacher in creating a nurturing, Christ-centered learning environment. This role involves assisting with classroom management, reinforcing instructional lessons, and providing individualized attention to students. The paraprofessional helps facilitate spiritual growth, academic achievement, and social-emotional development in young learners by exemplifying Christian values.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in daily classroom activities, including preparing materials, organizing lesson plans, and supervising students.
- Provide individualized and small group support to reinforce reading, math, and other key academic subjects.
- Foster a positive, Christ-centered environment by modeling Christian values and encouraging students in their spiritual development.
- Help manage classroom behavior, ensuring students follow classroom rules while encouraging respect, kindness, and cooperation.
- Supervise students during non-instructional times, such as recess, lunch, and transitions between activities.
- Assist with classroom setup, clean-up, and organization, ensuring a safe and inviting learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to assess students' needs, celebrate progress, and address challenges.
- Provide emotional and spiritual encouragement to students, helping them build strong relationships with God and their peers.
Qualifications
- A heart for Christian education and a desire to support the spiritual and academic growth of young children.
- Experience working with young children in an educational setting, preferably in a Christian school environment.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the lead teacher and school staff.
- Basic understanding of classroom management techniques.
