Position Details
Summary of Position: As a key part of our school leadership team, you will leverage Section 31a At-Risk funding to implement supplemental supports aligned with Michigan’s MTSS framework. Your focus will be on restorative practices, reflective engagement, and Tiered behavioral intervention across the 6-12 building.
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan teaching certification or licensure appropriate to serve in an administrative building-level behavior role.
- Masters degree preferred in leadership or other education-related cognate.
- Deep experience or training in restorative practices, conflict resolution, and reflection-based discipline models.
- Strong familiarity with MTSS frameworks including tiered behavior interventions, data review, and multi-stakeholder coordination.
- Excellent communicator able to engage students, staff, parents, and community partners with clarity and empathy. Availability to facilitate afterschool or extended day mentoring/intervention sessions for targeted students.
Essential Position Functions:
- Partner in MTSS leadership: support data-driven decision making, screening, tiered behavior interventions, and progress monitoring as required by Section 31a funding.
- Provide behavior support across Tiers 1-3: debrief incidents, conduct restorative conferences, coach self-regulation, and reduce disciplinary removals.
- Facilitate restorative circles, mediation, conferences, and reflections sessions to rebuild community and resolve conflict.
- Supervisor reflection rooms or reflections-based alternatives to suspension.
- Coordinate afterschool mentoring or support groups for students needing additional behavioral or socioemotional intervention.
- Deliver or coordinate evidence-based training for staff to build capacity in restorative practices, behavior interventions, and MTSS fidelity. Maintain collaboration with families, community partners, and internal teams to holistically support students.
Work Year: School year – 186 days.
Reports to: 6-12 Building Principal
Pay Rate: Negotiable based on experience and education level
