Job Summary
This position is responsible for gathering documentation in response to payer audits, validating and maintaining accurate order delivery records, and inventory reconciliation and delivery signature documentation. Inventory reconciliation includes completing order review and charging in the HomeMed electronic order entry and inventory management system. The process of reviewing and charging orders is vital to order validation (patient safety), inventory counts and valuation, and charge capture which ultimately leads to account billing. Delivery signature documentation management includes overseeing incoming mailed delivery signature documents, utilizing workflows and metrics reports to monitor outstanding signatures and coordination with patients and staff in other HomeMed operational areas to coordinate the retrieval of missing signatures. Other key responsibilities may include data mining and report generation relative to: drug shortage monitoring, inventory valuation, inventory item validation, delivery signature documents and other inventory and distribution activities.

Responsibilities*
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and proprietary information by observing legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and proprietary information
- Gather Documentation in response to payer audits under direction of HomeMed Reimbursement Manager and Revenue Cycle Manager
- Communicate pertinent information regarding order delivery issues discovered during the review and confirmation process and while performing signature retrieval activities with patients including demographics and supply issues to appropriate professional staff such as Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacists, Dietitians, Nurses, Supervisors/Managers and other Home Care Services staff.
- Perform data entry operations on Home Care Services computer system(s).
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date order / delivery records and other documentation as specified by UMHS Home Care policy and procedure.
- Maximize work efficiency through the use of computers and other technologies as evidenced by proficient skill in accessing and entering information necessary to perform job functions.
- Contribute to the resolution of patient and customer concerns.
- Complete documentation involved in selecting patient orders, completing DME documentation and patient order returns. Complete quality assurance/improvement duties as assigned.
- Contribute to completing the workload in the area(s) assigned.
- Participate in the development of home care goals and objectives.
Required Qualifications*
- Graduation from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skill and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Computer/keyboard data entry skills and experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to travel from point A to point B throughout the workday as assigned
Physical Requirements:
The employee will be able to perform the assigned duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations: ability to work in a sedentary position for long periods of time, ability to communicate/exchange information, fine motor coordination/dexterity necessary for keyboarding or typing, and may require reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, moving about, lifting of up to 10 pounds, etc., with or without the use of assistive/adaptive devices. Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English; functional visual acuity and hearing for accurate assessment and recording of patient interactions and information
Desired Qualifications*
- Home Infusion experience
- Completion of a clinically related training program, an associate degree in a health service related field or equivalent work experience such as Pharmacy Technician or medical assistant
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- One year previous experience servicing home care patients
Work Schedule
Work Schedule rotating during hours of operation between 7am-7pm, possibility of occasional weekends.

Additional Information
Must comply with all Michigan Medicine Occupational Health requirements including annual flu immunization.
