Unit Position Summary
The Archivo de Respuestas Emergencias de Puerto Rico (AREPR) seeks a co-editor for its edited collection Archiving Puerto Rico. The goal of this project is to document the innovative disaster response strategies developed and implemented by community organizations across Puerto Rico and to discuss how the process of documenting and archiving this work has impacted the participating community organizations. The role of the co-editor is to collaborate with the editorial team. To that end, the co-editor will maintain regular contact with community organizations, participate in planning meetings with the editorial team, help organize regular gatherings and co-writing sessions, assist with editorial work, and write one chapter for the book.

- Offer feedback on abstracts, outlines, and chapter drafts
- Advise community groups on processes and strategies to encourage their success
- Oversee contributions from community groups, ensuring completed chapters follow project guidelines
Assist with project planning:
- How often should we meet with community groups?
- How do we best meet the varying needs of our participants?
- What markup and editing strategies can be used to efficiently address areas needing revision?
- How will those revisions be communicated?
- How will we know when the work is complete?
Advise on translation work:
- Research possible publication venues for publishing the text in Spanish
- Provide feedback to translation assistant to ensure meaning is captured across languages
Meet with the editorial team:
- Share work updates
- Plan tasks and goals for the upcoming weeks
- Discuss progress and needs
