What are the responsibilities and job description for the Calibration Technician position at Micro Laboratories, Inc.?
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with senior calibration technicians in a climate-controlled laboratory setting to acquire and refine calibration skills in the areas of dimensional, mechanical, and electronic measurement
- Perform inspection and calibration in compliance with the quality program, procedures, and customer/industry specifications
- Inspect customer instruments and gages to ensure they are in good working condition with additional care and service
- Learn and utilize computer-based lab management system for data entry and collection
- Evaluate calibration reports and labels for accuracy and completion prior to sending for final inspection
- Engage in professional development activities to expand calibration skill set including: shadowing and direct instruction in the laboratory setting, virtual or in-person seminars, and self-directed study using provided materials
- Assist field calibration technicians with calibration, data entry, and instrument management at local customer facilities within working hours
- Support other team members as-needed, including brief customer support interactions via phone or in-house, calibration report revisions and corrections as-needed, and special assignments as aptitude and interest apply

- Self-motivated, “team player” with collaborative demeanor and proactive approach
- Demonstrates an interest in learning about the industry via self- study of specifications and technical publications as well as on the job training about the industry. The right person will have the potential to grow with the company as the need arises.
- Basic mathematics, communication, problem-solving, and organizing skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Physical requirements include the ability to sit or stand while performing motions requiring high manual dexterity. Must be able to lift, push, and pull 10-25 pounds. Able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds - reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities wherever possible
- Must be able to maintain customer and company confidentiality to trade/industry standards
- Must pass background check and drug screening
