Role Description
As a Strategic Category Analyst at Micron Technology, you will be responsible for driving the analytics, data and information gathering necessary to achieve the strategic objectives. You will work with your team members and stakeholders across Micron’s global sites, working collaboratively to ensure Micron meets current profitability objectives and achieves future cost-down aspirations.
You will collaborate with various sourcing and engineering teams, site leaders and other stakeholders. You will help the team monitor key internal metrics, evaluate category market conditions/trends, supply/demand challenges and other pertinent category dynamics.
You will lead cross-functional initiatives across category teams and stakeholders with the category analysts. You will be responsible for developing and implementing actionable insights that enable the category team to achieve business objectives.
What are the Primary Responsibilities?
Analytics & Data Management
- Be Responsible for Reporting Cost Savings Spend Analytics and overall Category Scorecards to Micron leaders
- Advise and help develop analytical models for analysis to deliver high impact business analytics
- Provide oversite to team members to ensure data integrity and accessibility and partner with IT, BI, Fin, Eng, Mfg,
Market Intelligence & Competitive Benchmarking
- Use Market Intelligence needs including industry research, supply network, risk and benchmarking
- Help to analyze and understand impact to category strategy where needed; deliver recommendations to support strategic direction
- Collect and use Financial data for suppliers, and provide guidance for interpretation
Leadership
- Enable cost transparency, analyze the cost drivers and calculate the target cost
- Communicate frequently to leaders and stakeholders and provide regular updates
- Establish relevant KPIs to monitor, measure, and communicate results

Experiences & Education
- 0-3 years of professional data management and analysis experience
- Bachelors’ degree required (MBA preferred); Business, Engineering, or Science major (preferred)
- Analytics and Problem-Solving enthusiasm and aptitude is more important than degree subject
- Procurement, Category Management, Supply Chain background a plus
- Strong aptitude with data and information management, and reporting tools: Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Tableau, SharePoint, etc.
- Financial and/or other analytics software, SQL and VBA aptitude a plus
