As a Supply Chain Engineer at Micron, you will be responsible for supporting Micron’s business strategies with process, data, and planning systems. You will be required to understand generally accepted supply chain operating principles and the vital data and modeling capabilities to support these principles. Will use the following standardized release procedures: coordinating, planning, monitoring, detailing, testing, and scheduling in a manner consistent with department standards when applicable. You will also help align the capabilities of the company’s software and design business processes and requirements based on business needs.

Support Process Design, Analysis, and Alignment

  • Build As-Is and To-Be process for the Supply Chain areas of focus
  • Complete gap analysis on current process
  • Review potential solutions through industry and internal benchmarks
  • Define human elements within the design (e.g., screen design for efficiencies, geographic location of human resources)
  • Collaborate with business partners to detail their respective processes
  • Define system requirements and coordinate with Information Technology domain experts as needed

Conduct Analytics

  • Determine standard methodology for Supply Chain area of focus
  • Clarify business partner requests provide as-is process metrics baseline and to-be metrics and targets
  • Research internal or external information and data
  • Present data results, conclusions, and recommendations to process collaborators and leadership

Design and Improve Systems

  • Discuss the encouraged system requirements (output capabilities) with partners
  • Develop system process and logic
  • Lead interactions and impact to current systems -Create functional design documentation and data requirements and provide to developers as the need arises
  • Define testing and training scenarios
  • Participate in process and system change
  • Discuss and communicate potential impacts (including business values and risks)
  • Evaluate current process for alignment opportunities

Manage or Participate in Projects

  • Identify projects in response to business needs and opportunities
  • Identify and recruit members for multi-functional project teams
  • Develop project definition, scope, and timelines
  • Supervise and/or report on project status to partners and collaborators
  • Evaluate testing results and work with Information Technology partners to make adjustments to systems as needed
  • Support implementation, including training
  • Coordinate or provide project closure

Provide Consultation, Expertise, and Research

  • Maintain expertise on current processes and systems
  • Act as a Supply Chain consultant or liaison
  • Conduct internal and external research to identify benchmarks
  • Respond to questions and requests from partners and customers

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor level degree in Business systems and/or Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or industry-related curriculum. Graduate degree preferred.

Professional Experience Required

  • 0-5 years supply planning systems experience (Blue Yonder/Kinaxis/SAP).
  • 0-5 years of experience partnering closely with IT organizations on operations and new deployments.
  • Experience in implementing or maintaining large-scale enterprise-wide supply chain solutions.
  • Working familiarity with several supply chain tools in Supply Planning, Demand Planning, S&OP, Order Promising and in-depth knowledge in 1 or 2 tools.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Technical understanding of planning solutions, including Blue Yonder (JDA), Kinaxis, and SAP.
  • Strong leadership, communication, consulting and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of supply chain standard methodologies.
  • Strong systems thinking capability.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Highly motivated and outcome oriented.
  • Highly committed with tenacity to keep the project progressing past obstacles, negotiating. scope, or by creative problem solving.
  • Supply chain savvy with strong Industrial Engineering or Operations Research foundation.
