What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Full-Time Facilities and Transportation Specialist position at Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency?
This is a temporary, full-time position through July 31, 2025.
The Facilities and Transportation Specialist assists with the effective and efficient operation of the Facilities and Transportation Management component system in the Mid-Cumberland Head Start/Early Head Start Program
SPECIFIC DUTIES OF THE JOB:
1. Assist with facilities maintenance in compliance with all regulatory agencies to assure effective delivery of Head Start/Early Head Start services.
2. Seasonal deep cleaning and maintenance of building interior and exterior (i.e. Floor waxing, carpet cleaning, painting, pressure wash building).
3. Ensure that safety and health procedures are followed
4. Perform regular upkeep of outside areas, including lawns, landscaped beds, play grounds and parking lots, to include weeding, trash and litter removal required to keep areas clean, neat and safe.
5. Assist with moving office and classroom furniture, fixtures and equipment to support increasing staffing changes, relocations, remodels, program expansion and custodial requirements.
6. Effectively communicate with the Facilities and Transportation Manager on progress of scheduled maintenance, emergency maintenance, materials received, and ongoing projects.
7. Completes minor maintenance as assigned by work orders, schedule, or supervisor request.
8. Assist with repairs and construction projects.
9. Assist with the Transportation services component systems and service delivery system in compliance with, Head Start/Early Head Start regulations, local policies and procedures, and other applicable State and Federal regulations.
10. Assist with vehicle maintenance for all fleet vehicles including buses and other Agency vehicles in compliance with all regulatory agencies to assure effective delivery of Head Start/Early Head Start services.
· Monitor emissions testing and vehicle registration for all fleet and Agency vehicles
· Monitor maintenance schedules for all fleet and Agency vehicles including oil changes, tire rotations, etc.
· Maintain accurate recordkeeping for all maintenance of fleet and Agency vehicles
11. Provide ride along drive time for CDL permit holders.
12. Completes documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements for the assigned service component.
13. Assists with special projects and assignments to assist in the administration and operation of the program.
14. Recruit children for the Head Start and Early Head Start Programs.
15. Attend and participate in meetings, work groups, team meetings, committees, workshops, individual training and training conferences as assigned, which may include local, state, regional and national groups.
16. Work to obtain volunteer and in-kind contributions for the Agency.
17. Comply with all Head Start Performance Standards, Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency and Mid-Cumberland Head Start Policies and Procedures, and other applicable Early Childhood Standards such as DHS Licensing Standards.
18. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Zero to two years of experience, preferably in school bus transportation and facilities maintenance/management. Valid TN driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain a CDL.
