Job Location:    98 East Avenue - Norwalk, CT
Salary Range:    $54,000.00 - $72,000.00 Salary

Description

Masters Level therapist will provide school/community-based therapy to children/adolescents and their families. The clinician will located at the school and work closely with school staff to identify the students and determine the type of support needed.
Principal Responsibilities:

•    Conduct comprehensive evaluations of children and families, preferably in their school or home environment, to generate clinical formulations that inform the individualized treatment plans for the clients on their caseload.
•    Provide individual and family, parent guidance and group therapy if warranted for the clients on caseload.  Sessions will be conducted in the school, in the home, or in the community as indicated. 
•        Maintain all necessary electronic health records and scheduling requirements
•    Collaborate closely with school staff, other agency staff when indicated, and other outside providers to ensure coordinated care for the children and families being served
•     Attend all necessary agency and school meetings
•     Attend any psychiatric evaluation and medication management appointments with psychiatry team that are needed for clients on caseload.
•    Participate in School-Based Initiative Team Meetings
•    Provide crisis intervention, evaluations, plans and referral services for clients on caseload
•    Provide crisis support to students and faculty if warranted in times of crisis
•    Other duties as assigned by supervisor

•    Proven ability to communicate with families as well as with other providers such as school social workers, teachers and other community partners among others
•    Demonstrated ability to maintain healthy boundaries between personal and professional responsibilities to be able to function in a high stress job
•    Proven ability to manage conflict appropriately and advocate for victims of violence
Family Engagement:
o    Knowledge of person centered care
o    Appropriate guidance and facilitation skills of families in the context of the culture, health status, and health needs
Technical:
o    Knowledge of basic group skills
o    Basic negotiation skills
o    Ability to delegate tasks, responsibilities, etc.
o    Excellent time management skills

Reporting Relationships:
The School-Based Clinician will report to the Manager of Community-Based Services.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary range $54,000-72,000 based on credentials, experience and skills. Additional compensation offered for on-call rotation.

Continuing Education and training (i.e. Evidence-based Practices) offered.

Supervision toward CT State Licensure (LCSW, PH.D, LMFT, LPC) provided.
Schedule

Position is a full time, 40 hour position, Monday through Friday.

 

 

 

Qualifications


Qualifications and Skills:
•    Master’s Degree or higher from an accredited school of Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or Psychology Program 
•    Must have CT State license or Associate License in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or Psychology
•    Minimum two-years relevant experience working with children and families and risk and crisis assessment skills
•       Experience proving, individual, family, and/or group therapy in Spanish 
•    Experience and competence working with individuals and families from culturally diverse backgrounds required (EOE).
•    Computer skills, including MS Office; familiarity with electronic health record systems a plus.
•    Ability to travel to family's homes and/or within the community when warranted
•    Bilingual (Spanish/English) is highly valued but not required
