General Description
A Project Coordinator for the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council provides vital support to local community development within eight counties. This individual will work within a team which is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of regional community development activities. This is a full-time position located in Parkersburg, WV. The position offers flexible hours and hybrid options with required local travel and occasional evening meetings.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
· Developing and coordinating community development projects in collaboration with various stakeholders including federal, state, and local government agencies, non-profits, boards, and community organizers and leadership.
· Conducting thorough research and analysis of economic data, trends, and relevant policies to inform project decisions and strategies.
· Engaging with stakeholders to gather input, build relationships, and ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
· Identifying funding opportunities, writing grant proposals, and securing financial support for projects to fund economic development initiatives.
· Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and policies.
· Communicating project goals, benefits, and potential impacts to the community, addressing concerns, and gathering feedback.
· Utilize mechanisms to monitor project progress, collect data, and generate regular reports to assess performance and impact.
· Managing project budgets and timelines, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost-effectiveness in project planning and execution.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Proficiency in planning, organizing, and managing projects from conception to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and goals are met.
· Desired knowledge of federal and state public development programs and policies, regulations, and compliance requirements in economic and community development.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing.
· Capacity to think strategically and develop long-term plans and initiatives.
· Ability to work collaboratively and create partnerships with key stakeholders.
· Proficiency with a computer: specific programs knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe.
Qualifications:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in business management, public administration, political science, geography or related field with correlated work experience.
Customer service oriented with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
Desired experience with grant proposal writing.
Must have reliable means of transportation and valid driver’s license.
Recommended Salary:
This position starts at $45,000 per year with a benefit package available to employees of MOVRC.
