What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Development Coach position at Mid-West New Mexico Community Action Program?
Title: Child Development Coach Program: EHS/*Head Start FLSA: *Non-Exempt
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for working with classroom teachers to support student learning and professional growth. The Coach will focus on individual and group professional development that will expand and refine the understanding about research-based effective instruction. To meet this purpose, the Coach will provide personalized support that is based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate the intellectual and professional development of teachers.
- Facilitate and take an active part in teacher collaboration activities and planning times.
- Provide support in the implementation of curriculum and instruction to be aligned with school readiness goals, curricula and other approaches.
- Plan and deliver large and small group workshops.
- Serve as a source for new materials and ideas.
- Provide opportunities for intensive coaching to those education staff identified, including opportunities to be observed and receive feedback and modeling of effective teacher practices.
- Attend workshops/conferences/professional development opportunities to learn new innovative instructional strategies.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Citizen of the United States or have legal papers to work in the United States.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related degree
- Submit to an FBI Criminal Record Investigation and Fingerprinting as required by Federal and State Law.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $29.00 per hour
