Description of Duties: A peer recovery coach is someone personally in long term recovery from substance use disorder. They offer non-clinical recovery support services to people in or seeking recovery through a combination of the use of their lived experience, role-modeling and ongoing training/supervision. They utilize a person-centered approach to support peers in initiating and maintaining recovery and increasing their recovery capital (employment, education, support groups, housing. etc.). Peer recovery support services can work in conjunction with traditional clinical treatment or be an alternative to clinical treatment. Peer recovery coaches walk side by side with individuals at every stage of recovery and assist/support them in creating their own recovery plan and developing their own recovery pathway/s. Peer recovery coaches support all individual’s pathway choices. Addiction Recovery Support Center’s offer a safe environment that allows individuals served to freely explore different pathways to recovery and offers a variety of social supports both traditional and non-traditional in nature.
Work Crew supervisor provides mentorship and leadership qualities. While teaching on the job skills and habits that build confidence. Supervise off-site Jobs such as, Moving furniture, Lawn care, basic furniture assembly, and general labor tasks. Collecting hours worked and all facilitated paperwork. Setting the work schedule for the crew. Transporting crew safely form job to job. Generating new job leads. Developing the program to improve our ability to assist our peers with job skills and confidence. Recovery coach offers various forms of emotional support regardless of the person’s stage in treatment or recovery. Recovery coach is able to relate and empathize by sharing their lived experience and using Motivational Interviewing techniques in various settings.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Valid, unrestricted Georgia Driver’s License. Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office).
Preferred Qualifications: : Bachelor’s Degree in human service, public health or behavior health sciences field. Certified Peer Professional Certification and Certified Peer Rehabilitation Professional - Eligible. WHAM Certified.
