What are the responsibilities and job description for the Therapist - Crisis Stabilization Unit (Warner Robins, GA) position at Middle Flint Community Service Board?
Description of Duties: Duties include developing Crisis Safety Plans, conducting Suicide Risk Assessments, behavior and conducting groups with clients on the unit. Clinician is an important member of our multi-disciplinary team, provides comprehensive assessments, individual, group counseling, family counseling, and other treatment modalities within an evidence-based framework. Demonstrates strong clinical judgment in assessment, application of diagnostic criteria, clinical formulations, and sound triage decisions. Actively contributes to the treatment center and organization through on-going collaborative efforts. Participation as an active member of an interdisciplinary treatment team, developing and implementing client-centered treatment plans and goal setting for serviced individuals. The role of the therapy group facilitator is to provide substance abuse and cognitive psycho educational and processing groups, maintain a therapeutic relationship with individuals served, and report individual’s progress to supervisor or any overseers of the individuals’ served. The therapist will provide substance abuse education and counseling to individuals served, collaborate with case managers/stakeholders or referring agencies, and make necessary referrals for other social services.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field. Valid, unrestricted Georgia Driver’s License. Must be computer literate.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy with two years’ work experience in social services delivery (crisis services, case management, outreach, prevention/education, individual assessments, counseling); Incumbent must be computer proficient and have the ability to multi-task. Incumbent must have experience working in adult mental health and experience conducting groups. Must have basic computer and typing skills. Must have experience providing individual and group services to individuals with co-occurring disorders.
