Position Summary
Provides advanced pre hospital care to patients, respecting their age-specific/developmental needs, gender, culture, religion, psychosocial and socioeconomic backgrounds. Practices paramedicine within the statutory and regulatory framework established by State of Connecticut Office of Emergency Medical Services. Must be able to lift and move patients while utilizing various types of transportation and transfer equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Paramedic who is a graduate of a state (not necessarily CT) approved paramedic training program, currently licensed to practice in the State of Connecticut.
- Has the knowledge and skills necessary to assess health needs of patients and deliver emergent care in a safe manner.
- Must also maintain CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advance Life Support or Pediatric Education for the Pre hospital Professional ALS certifications.
- Has personal qualities of neatness, accuracy and dependability.
- Relates in a professional and respectful manner with everyone and consistently demonstrates ability to tactfully handle difficult situations.
- Must be 21 years of age.
