What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building-Based Substitute Teachers (One Year Only) All Subject Areas position at Middletown Public Schools?
The building-based substitute teacher provides instruction, encourages student progress, and manages the learning environment, enabling each child to pursue his/her education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Building-based subs will be used to support each school and serve as substitute teachers.
- When not needed as substitutes, they can be used to support teachers with small groups of students or individual students and/or cover teacher duties.
- Building-based subs will be granted an automatic interview for any position for which they are certified.
- Building-based subs will be paid $150 per day and receive no health benefits.
- Building-based subs can voluntarily participate in any PD sessions.
- Building-based subs will be considered for any long-term sub position for the 2025-2026 school year.
- This is a different position from day-to-day substitute positions.
