Essential Functions
Essential functions of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following functions. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist Lead Teacher: Support the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities that align with the Pre-K curriculum and Christian values.
- Supervision and Care: Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, both indoors and outdoors, by maintaining proper supervision and adhering to school policies and procedures.
- Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining a positive and structured classroom environment conducive to learning, including managing transitions, behavior, and routines.
- Curriculum Support: Help prepare and organize instructional materials, resources, and equipment for lessons and activities. Assist in facilitating hands-on learning experiences that promote creativity, exploration, and discovery.
- Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one or small group support to children who may need additional assistance with activities or concepts, adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Spiritual Integration: Integrate Christian values and teachings into daily activities and interactions with students, fostering their spiritual growth and understanding.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with the lead teacher, parents, and other staff members regarding students’ progress, concerns, and achievements.
- Assessment and Documentation: Assist in observing, assessing, and documenting children’s development and progress, including maintaining accurate records and portfolios.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
